Kate Middleton and Prince William Ignore Divorce Chatter, Celebrate Awkward Anniversary

Kate Middleton and Prince William have now been married for eight years.

The Royal Couple was honored on Monday by those around them for achieving this milestone, nearly a decade after they exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey in London.

But while Kensington Palace is clearly very happy for Will and Kate, frequent celebrity gossip observers are celebrating the milestone with one eyebrow raised and one question on their minds…

… will the marriage last long enough to see a ninth year?!?

Indeed, divorce chatter continues to swirl around the Prince and his Duchess — because cheating allegations continue to swirl around William.

As reported one month ago, William has been accused by multiple outlets of sleeping with a rival of his wife’s named Rose Hanbury.

There has long been talk of the Prince and his infidelity, but this is one of the first time a specific name has been linked to his allegedly disloyal penis — and the reports have gone more viral than any previous allegations to date.

Middleton and Hanbury were long-time friends who recently had a falling out, reportedly because the latter is diddling the former’s husband.

The feud has grown so fierce that inside say Middleton has been trying to get Hanbury booted from the Turnip Toffs, the actual name of a loose-knit organization of wealthy society dames in England.

How legitimate are these rumors of a William-Hanbury affair?

We can’t speak on the validity of the affair itself, but the rumors have been loud enough and persistant enough that William has threatened to sue In Touch Weekly for spreading them.

The infidelity possibility has also married William and Kate’s annivesary celebration today.

Kensington Palace, for example, Tweeted a congratulatory message and photo this morning, writing to/of the famous twosome:

8 years ago today — thank you for your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!

As you can see above, this caption accompanied a sweet photo of William and Kate on their wedding day in 2011.

But while such a Tweet would typically have been met in the past by other message of support from Royal Family followers around the globe, this one was meant with mockey.

The general theme of all who responded to the note went something like this:

You may be sending your congratulations a little too soon there, Palace social media team.

Other Twitter users, meanwhile, were far less vague and far more pointed in their replies.

To wit:

Since their wedding day, William and Kate has welcomed three lovely children into the world: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, who celebrated his first birthday earlier this month.

They have mostly represented themselves and their nation with class and dignity.

But these new rumors are putting a stain on their relationship and on their famous family in general, especially because William’s father, Prince Charles, very publicly cheated on his wife as well, the beloved Princess Diana.

Ironically, Kate may need help from her other well-known foe in order to put a (temporary) end to all this divorce chatter.

In her view, Meghan Markle probably can’t give birth soon enough.

At least the British press will have something else to cover for a few days once that blessed event transpires!
